Audio-Technica Announces New Microphones Model

Audio-Technica announces its new microphone models. The model include ATND971 Network Microphone, ES945/LED, ES947/LED and AT8657/LED table-mount microphone devices with switch and LED. Also debuts System 10 Camera-Mount Wireless System.

Audio-Technica ATND971 Cardioid Condenser Boundary Network Microphone, bridging the gap between audio and IT as the first wired microphone that transmits audio and control data together over Audinate's Dante™ network protocol. Dante has become a go-to method of networking for many audio professionals; a true plug-and-play solution, Dante uses standard Internet protocols to distribute digital audio and control data with very low latency.

A simple Ethernet connection allows the Network Microphone to communicate across an existing network of Dante-enabled devices and, with the microphone's programmable user switch, control any of those devices at the push of a button. A perfect fit for boardrooms and other meeting spaces, Audio-Technica's ATND971 boundary mic features simple, inexpensive Ethernet connectivity, outstanding sound quality, a Red/Green LED status indicator and an integrated user switch to control anything from triggering a video camera pan/tilt to a room’s lighting preset and much more. And since Dante can support up to 512 bidirectional audio channels, this microphone offers an easily scalable solution. The ATND971 is powered by network PoE.

ATND971 Cardioid Condenser Boundary Microphone with Dante™ Network Output A true audio/IT convergence, the ATND971 boundary mic not only delivers the superior audio you would expect from Audio-Technica, with outstanding speech intelligibility and transparent sound quality, but it also transmits control data to communicate across a network of Dante-enabled devices. The integrated programmable user switch allows users to trigger a video camera’s pan/tilt, recall lighting presets or control anything else on the network at the push of a button. And with a Red/Green LED the microphone can visually convey mute status, incoming phone calls or other creative visual effects utilizing a control system. The microphone plugs into the network via Ethernet cable – easy to install and operate. Features UniGuard® RFI-shielding technology and UniSteep® low-cut filter.

Audio-Technica introduces three table-mount LED microphone devices that bring convenience, control and superior audio to a variety of presentation environments. The new ES945/LED Omnidirectional and ES947/LED Cardioid Condenser Boundary Microphones and AT8657/LED Flush Mount Microphone Socket with Contact Closure all feature a 360° Red/Green LED indicator ring. Part of Audio-Technica's Engineered Sound™ (ES) line, these devices are available exclusively to contractors and system integrators.

The ES945/LED Omnidirectional and ES947/LED Cardioid Condenser Button-style Boundary Microphones provide clear, highly intelligible audio that is perfect for video conference, teleconferencing, audio recording, and other demanding sound pickup applications. Each mic is protected by a rugged, all-metal case with a dual-layer steel mesh grille, and features a low-profile design that allows it to be mounted unobtrusively in a tabletop. Users can locally mute and un-mute each microphone thanks to a capacitive-type touch-sensitive switch; the Red/Green LED indicator that encircles the grille alerts user to audio status – it glows green when live and turns red when muted. These phantom-powered mics are equipped with a 3-pin XLRM output and boast UniGuard® RFI-shielding technology for outstanding rejection of radio frequency interference.

The AT8657/LED Flush Mount Microphone Socket with Contact Closure allows user to add remote switch and LED functionality to a 21 mm phantom-powered gooseneck or button-style boundary microphone with a 3-pin XLRM output, including Audio-Technica’s ES945 and ES947 non-LED models. The socket is equipped with a 5-pin XLRM output for both audio and control function. Its external contact closure capability enables control of remote devices, so user can easily trigger an external device (e.g., a camera or light) with the touch of the unit's capacitance switch. The socket also features a lock switch that automatically engages the microphone upon insertion to securely hold it in place until the switch is manually released by user. The Red/Green LED ring is powered by the microphone’s phantom power, eliminating the need for an additional power source.

Audio-Technica also debuting the System 10 Camera-Mount Digital Wireless System, a digital wireless system designed to provide rock-solid performance along with easy setup and clear, natural sound quality. Featuring a compact design, the system is available in handheld, lavalier and body-pack configurations.
