Audio-Technica new products launches at the 2019 Hong Kong High-End Audio Visual Show
2019 Hong Kong High-End Audio Visual show concluded successfully. Audio-Technica exhibited
ATH-AWAS Asada Cherry wood headphone and
ATH-AWKT Ebony headphone for the first time. Many Audiophiles were attracted by wooden headphones during the exhibition. “ATH-AWAS” and “ATH-AWKT” are unique wooden headphones crafted and assembled in Japan.
ATH-AWAS uses the Asada Cherry wood material, which is often used in stylish furniture and acoustics. Asada Cherry wood’s texture makes the housings look stunning. Equipped with φ53mm driver exclusively designed for AWAS, Core Mount Technology (PAT.P), Double Air Damping System (D.A.D.S), and diaphragms with a diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating which result in its rich and high-fidelity sound; XLR connector for L/R channel separating sound for best Hi-FI listening experience, and Hi-OFC and A2DC (Audio Design Detachable Coaxial) connectors at the headphone to ensure a secured connection and stable signal transmission. With a soft touch synthetic leather headband and ear pads, the frame and arms are made of lightweight magnesium to ensure prolonged listening pleasure.
ATH-AWKT uses the high quality Ebony wood material, which is often used in all instruments for its superior acoustic characteristics. Ebony is a hard wood with different hardness to provide an anti-vibration effect with high-fidelity sound. It is equipped with the φ53mm driver exclusively designed for AWKT, featuring Permendur magnetic circuitry and Double Air Damping System (D.A.D.S) to further expand the subwoofer range. Moreover, it has a stable transmission signal by utilizing high-purity copper wire (6N-OFC+OFC), Audio-Technica exclusive audio design A2DC (Audio Design Detachable Coaxial) connectors and XLR connector for L/R channel separating sound. With the soft lambskin headband and ear pads, the frame and arms are made of lightweight magnesium to make its ultra comfortable fit.
In addition to the above wooden headphones, the new Solid Bass series
ATH-CKS5TW true wireless headphones were also exhibited during the event. Audiophiles were pleasantly surprised to note that CKS5TW has a longer battery life, 15 hours of playback, with charging case that can be used for up to 45 hours.
Audio-Technica has 57 years of heritage in manufacturing cartridges. During this year’s event, Audio-Technica has exhibited numerous cartridges, transformers, and tonearm cable. For vinyl enthusiasts, apart from the selection of cartridges, transformer can be chosen to have the best analog listening experience.
